On February 15th, the Cedar Rapids Gazette published an article titled Amana wells at high risk which was a follow up to the January 6th article about high nitrates in the Amana water system. We want to reiterate that no water has been provided to the community that doesn’t meet safety standards.
It’s important to note that the nitrate levels below 10 milligrams per liter is considered safe and at no time have nitrate levels in water delivered to the public exceeded this level.
